He was born December 16, 1915, near Dorrance, the son of Ernest C. and Lena R. Koetkemeyer Anschutz.

EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN BATTLES: Rome-Arno, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Alsace.

DECORATIONS: European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Star Devices, American Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation Badge, Good Conduct Medal with Clasp, and the WW II Victory Medal.

He married Helen A. Tiedeman May 12, 1946, at Russell, KS.
