Virgil " Dusty Rhodes - Obit

Virgil "Dusty" Rhodes was son of Peachy Rhodes and Mary Frances Prigmore. He was married December 3, 1917, Lafayette Co. to Elpha Best, daughter of Joseph Best and Ella M. Davidson. After the death of his first wife, he remarried to Charlene.

Virgil Rhodes
Virgil (Dusty) Rhodes, 78, of 4244 Charlotte, died Tuesday at Lakeside Hospital. He was born in Corder, Mo., and lived in Kansas City 40 years. Mr. Rhodes was a union painter most of his life before he retired 1961. He was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the 140th F. Club of the V.F.W. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Charlene E. Rhodes of the home, three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Board, 18712 R.D. Mize Road, Independence; Mrs. Mary Frances French, Redlands, Calif., and Mrs. Chrystel E. Morgan, Tulsa; two brothers, Preston Rhodes, Buckner in Jackson County, and Homer Rhodes, Higginsville, Mo; four sisters, Miss Sarah Rhodes, Miss Mary Rhodes, Mrs. Audrey Taylor and Mrs. Elba Williamson, all of Buckner; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Muehlebach Chapel; burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
