Joseph S Best - Services Wednesday
Joseph S. Best, 96, Lexington, died Sunday at the Lexington Memorial Hospital after an illness of one month. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Vaugh Walker Chapel with Rev. Walter Brunner officating. Burial will be in Macheplah Cemetery.
Mr. Best was born in Blount County, Tennessee, the son of Isaac and May Baker Best. He was married to Ella Davidson, who died 20 years ago. He was member of the United Methodist Church and had lived in Lafayette County for 94 years.
Surviving are two son: John H. Best, Sacramento, California and Delbert Best, Kansas City, Kansas; two daughters, Mrs. Emil Frerking and Mrs. Jewel Swafford, both of Lexington, a brother John R. Best, Marshall.
Eighteen grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive. Friends may all from 7 to 8:30, Tuesday evening at Vaughn Walker Chapel.
