Fern Lymon's life was so important to mine. I was so blessed to have had her in my life as long as I did. She was my second mother, next to my own she was the greatest, and I love her and miss her sooo much. I was told that, as a newborn she gave me my first bath when my mother was overwhelmed with her other four little boys. I can remember walking across the street as a child just to go visit with her, and she would let me stay (unlike other adults who would tell me to go play!). She took me to Dodger games, her family BBQ's and her family vacations.... I was her family. Some of my favorite memories of childhood were with her, and I learned many life lessons from her. I can honestly say though, that I am sad that I did not call her as often as I should have when she moved to Oregon. I guess when you're a teenager you don't realize what little time we have on this earth, and that we should always express our love for each other (especially our elders) as often as we can. I take solace in knowing that the last thing I said to her on the phone was "I love you".... and that she replied "I love you too Honey". Because I was never able to tell her how much she really means to me and what an influence she has on my life, I hope now in the heavens, she can see and know how loved, important, vital, blessed, and necessary she was and is, to someone who was of no biological relation. I Love You & Miss You Everyday! ? ? ? XXOOO~
