Jason Rice is said to have resided in the southerly part of Worcester County, Mass., and had a large family. He was in the battle of Bennington, Capt. Daniel Gilbert's Company; in Capt. Francis Wilson's Company, Col. Danforth Keyes' Regiment at Providence, and at Fishkill in Capt. Hamilton's Company, Col. James Converse's Regiment, in Continental Army. He is described: "Age, 22. Stature 5 ft. 8 inches. Complexion light. Town from, Brookfield."

NOTE: In Marie Hibbard's DAR entry (DAR ID #23539, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Volume 24, page 185), Jason is listed as having served as a private in the New Hampshire military at the battle of Monmouth. Also, that he received a pension while living in Athens County, Oh.
