Dan Levens Preas
November 12, 1918 - March 20, 2015

Dan Levens Preas, 96, passed away March 20, 2015 at his home in College Place, Washington.
Dan was born in Fruitvale, Oregon to George F. and Margurite Preas in the family’s home. His twin brother Fred passed away in 1978. He graduated from Mac-Hi and Walla Walla Business College. He spent most of his working years on the family farm, selling insurance in Seattle and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.

Dan… served in the U.S. Army from November 1941 through July 1950. He met the love of his life, Thelma Joy Preas in College Place and they were married on Jan 1, 1948. They settled in College Place where they lived over 60 years. Generations of family pilgramaged to their home to enjoy love, friendship and always great food!

His life was all about God and family, as he worked tirelessly to meet the family needs. He was a quiet man, but taught the children about work ethics, honesty, and especially faith. He studied the Scriptures with vigor and was always quick to encourage others about what the Bible promised. Dad’s passion was to meet his family in Heaven! It can be said by all the family that Dad prayed continuously for his family on his knees, spent countless hours reading the Word for purpose and comfort and gave charitably to a multitude of causes that shared Jesus around the world! He also liked working outside where he enjoyed the simple basics of life, crossword puzzles and watching the Mariners and Seahawks. He was always first to volunteer to take family members to work during icy road conditions. You could always find him with a big smile of his face.

Dan is survived by his children, Michael and Barbara Preas, Kathryn Struthers, Connie and Roger Maidment, Dan D and Marva Preas; two brothers, Roger and Richard Preas; and a multitude of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Several stories can be told of how Dad’s faith has changed many lives of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Fred; two sisters, Maxine Lieuallen and Phyllis Russell; and his wife, Thelma Joy Preas. Memorial contributions are encouraged and can be sent to any charity for the purpose of telling others about Jesus.
