William Herman Baker was the second husband of my great-grandmother, Sarah Daisy McNally. Sarah was the widow of James McNally a Civil War veteran who died October 14, 1912. William Baker and Sarah were married May 15, 1915 in Washington, DC.

William Baker joined the Army (date unknown) and was a member of the Expeditionary Forces sent to France. He was killed in the Argonne Forest in September of 1918. His remains were returned to Washington and he is laid to rest in Section 18, Grave #3255 in Arlington National Cemetery.

Sarah Daisy McNally Baker died in November 1935. She was never sure that the remains returned from France were those of William Baker so she had requested to be interred with her first husband James McNally, also buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
