Sgt. James Lesley Crawford - Western Tennessee Militia

James Lesley Crawford served in the Western Tenneessee Militia as a Sergeant, 1st Regiment, Captain John Spinks' Company, Colonel John Wynne commanded by General Andrew Jackson.  They fought in the "Battle of Talladega", November 9, 1813 in which James was wounded by a musket ball in the right shoulder.  James re-enlisted and served again 10 months later in Western Tenneessee Militia as a Sergeant, 3rd Regiment, Captain Charles Wade's Company, Colonel James Roulston again under the command of General Andrew Jackson.  They were there fighting victoriously in the "Battle of New Orleans", January 8, 1815.
