Service History

Enlisted April 19 1775 (day of Battle of Lexington) as minuteman under Capt. James Davis, in Col. Doolittle's Reg. Marched from Holden to Cambridge served for  10 days as Fifer

May 1775 served with Capt. John Jones company, in Col. Doolittle's Reg for 9 months (8 + 1)

March 1776 served in Capt Richardson's company for over 6 weeks

Enlisted January 1777 in Capt. Prout's company, in Col. Sparhawk's regiment, served 3 months as drum major

Enlisted 1777 in Capt Samuel Hubbard's company, in Col. Cushings regiment, served 3 months as drum major.  He was present when General Burgoyne surrendered and participated in both battles before the surrender

Enlisted August 1778 in Capt. Joshua Whitney's company, Col. Whitney's regiment, served for 6 weeks and was in the battle of Rhode Island

Enlisted July 1779 in Capt. Christopher Marshall's company, Col. Marshall's regiment

Was honorably dischared April 10, 1780
