My grandfather, Luther D.LeCount passed away Feb 1st 1999, he was 82 yrs old. God be with him. He entered service in Toledo, Ohio and was a heavy mortarman/forward observer,having received the combat infantry badge, rifle,carbine, BAR, sharpshooter,& pistol marksman qualification awards.

Medals Received:

1. EAME CAMPAIGN MEDAL W/2 BATTLE STARS.
2. PURPLE HEART(3 times) w/2 oakleaf clusters.
3. BRONZE STAR (2 TIMES) w/1 oakleaf & V insignia for VALOR.
4. GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL.
5. WW2 VICTORY MEDAL.

CONTINENTAL SERVICE: 2 YEARS,1 MONTH, 29 DAYS.
CAMPAIGNS/BATTLES: NORTHERN FRANCE.&GERMANY.

SERVICE OVERSEAS: 8 MONTHS 3 DAYS.
