JOHN HENRY KING - MY BEST FRIEND

John served with me on the USS HANCOCK (CVA-19) in 1966 and 1967. The ship made at least one combat deployment to the Western Pacific while John was on board, and served in the Vietnam war zone while operating in the South China Sea and Tonkin Gulf. John was a Shipfitter Metalsmith 3rd Class (SFM3). He died shortly after suffering massive head trauma in an automobile accident while he was on leave near Greenville, Texas. He was 21 years old. He was my best friend.
