Mexican War - Army 5th Reg., Co. "D", LA Volunteers, William Whitens (Whitehurst), discharged 15 Aug 1846, served 3 months.  Service was in Braccos Santiago, Point Isabel & Sakontto (?).  Was a prisoner under Mexican War Ctf. #16147.

Married Mary Amelia Campbell (1831-1854), 2nd marriage Aurora Schach (1844-1907).  Born in Norfolk, Virginia Sept, 1826.  Died in Clay, Burleson, Texas in July, 1892.
