Uncle of Mottrom Dulany Ball

Fairfax, Virginia

Wiiliam Dulany's sister was Mary L. Dulany Ball, who married Spencer Mottram Ball (1801-1859).  Mary and Spencer had a son, Mottrom Dulany Ball (1835 - 1837), who was the law partner of William H. Dulany.  William wrote a letter to the Secretary of the Treasury seeking to get Mottrom a desk job, as Mottrom's family were refugees and he needed to care for them.  This didn't come through and Mott Ball remained with his regiment and fought throughout the war.
