Stories

Roy Malone was an accomplished photographer in Grayville, IL.  Although he did not have a studio and may have only taken photos as a hobby many of his photos and negatives survive today in our family.  He never married and took his own life when he was told he had to register for the draft during the "old man's draft: for WWII.  His WWI survice apparently so horrible that he couldn't bare the thought of returning to war.

Roy's service during WWI including being shipped to or back from France on the U.S.S Manchurian.  He purchased a large photo of the ship and it has been passed down through the family to William D. Malone.
