Corporal Clark B. Hardesty, 20 years old, died June 28 as a result of wounds received in action on Biak Island according to information received this morning from the war department by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Hardesty, 523 St. Louis Avenue, Joplin, MO.

Corporal Hardesty entered the service March, 1943, and was stationed at Camp Roberts, California, until going overseas in July 1943. He had served with the infantry in the South Pacific area since that time. He attended Joplin Schools and was graduated from the high school in 1942. He was employed by the Meeker Company.

Surviving, besides his parents, are a brother, Charles Edward Hardesty, stationed at Camp Hood, Texas, and his grandmothers Mrs. Plessy Hardesty, 823 Ozark Avenue and Mrs. Maud Knorpp, 828 Ozark Avenue, Joplin, MO.
