I was told that 5 brothers came from Starka, Prussia to New York, and 1 out of the 5 brothers came to Texas. Looking for the missing 4 others brothers to the Texas Melofsky brother to connect to the family.

Informed by Frank #3 daughter, Ann Marie, 5 Melofsky brothers came to America from Starka, Prussia in the 1800's. Prussia is today, Poland. Jacob and Mary settled in Lavaca County, Texas farming and raising cattle. The Czech-Poles-Slavs family history came be found from county records. They had a son, Frank #1 later he married Anna Svrcek, they had 3 children, he was killed by a team of horses over the oil boom of 1890's in Texas, story of his murder was written up in the local Czech and English newspapers. Czech-Poles-Bohemia-Movaria people were not very welcome to those parts, they had to stick together, and feared the Germans and English that sold them their lands before the oil boom were trying to force, prior land owners (German-English) them of property the property they sold to them, so they could re-obtain the land and the Czech families oil rights. Many lives were lost over the oil boom in the early 1900's, all history of this can be found in the Texas Czech Hertigage Society. Women didn't have the right to vote, nor own property, so Anna forced to remarry to keep her property and rights, she remarried Jan Farek, they had 4 more children, Anna died in the 1918 Flu outbreak, and later the next year 1919, Jan passed. Joesf the youngest son died as well. #2 Frank being the oldest and already working on the Oil Derricks in East Columbia knew the oil field business helped manage back home with family farm and business with his other siblings. Frank was a strong, tall and large man whom later married Mary Pribyl, they moved around with his Aunt and Uncle Jennie and Mike Matula for the oil boom, work. They later settled down with children and farming. The Matula's did the same settled and took up management of a larger farm. This Jacob Melofsky listed here above is a family member, and would like to know the other 4 Melofsky brother's members to finish the Melofsky Genealogy?
