Hohn H. Sneed was a Coporal in the United States Civil War - Co. C - 48th Infantry that was part of the 4th Bridge, 1st Division 16 Corps of the Union Army, and Commanded by General U.S.Grant during the siege and defense of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and served in the lines during that battle from June 12 until July 4, 1865. John's brother, William M. Sneed was in this battle also, he was a private. Several of the Vinyard family were also in this battle.
