A good soldier, a better sergeant.
Sergeant, Davila was, my platoon sergeant, (his first platoon) in july/aug/september, of 1959, in Fort Jackson, S.C.. He wasn't easy on us, but was fair and had a good sense, of humor. I can still hear him, saying, during drill practice: 'Don't anticipate the command!.' Thank you, for the lifelong training, you've, given me.

You were my Platoon Sergeant, at Fort Jackson, SC., in late 1964. You tought me well.. how, to soldier and how, to be a part, of something. I'll never forget you, nor will those, others that your life touched, in the same way. Your basic, training, platoon sergeant, is kind, of like your high school, football coach... a person, that lives on with you, forever.
