A Father that I never knew
Posted for: ROBERT GOMEZ:
I wanted to leave this message for you, just to let you know that I am now 39 years old. I have often wondered what you were like and who my family is. You will be happy to know that the man that raised me along with my mother took very good care of me. They never let me forget you. My grandmother tells me that at times I smile like you did and I make faces like you. You have three grandchildren, two boys and a girl. I wonder ... do they smile like you also. One day we will meet again.

Love,

Memories of you
Posted for: ROBERT GOMEZ:
Not a day goes by that you are not part of our lives and thoughts, you were always kind and generous. The beautiful memories of you are held close in the hearts of those you left behind. Your daugther Virginia (Ginny) only knows you from pictures taken, she has your smile, kindness and generous heart, you would be very proud, i love her dearly. As for me...I still remember and cherish every moment we had in our short and happy lives together, you will always have a special place in my heart.
My love for you is eternal. Hilda

My Uncle Robert Gomez
Posted for: ROBERT GOMEZ:

Robert Gomez, better known to my family as Bud, was my uncle. He passed away when I was 7 years old. At the time, Bud was survived by his parents, Fred and Lupe Gomez (both now deceased), two brothers, Fred and Ernest, and two sisters, Mary Jo and Virgina. Bud was also married to a girl he met in Germany and they had a daughter together. After Bud passed away she and her daughter moved back to Germany.

Bud is still remembered by all of his family. My sister Pat has even incorporated his life into art pieces.

He is missed by all.

12/01/04: This website and being able to leave a remembrance has been more valuable than I can explain in words. My cousin Virgina, the above mentioned daughter of Bud who had gone back to Germany at the age of 2 - rediscovered our family, now 38 years later, through this website and this remembrance. Virginia and 2 of her 3 children just spent the Thanksgiving holidays with her father's family. We spent a great deal of time sharing pictures of Bud, both from her mother and from our family and telling stories about Bud and the family. It was a special Thanksgiving.
