Eggnog Riot

The United States Military Academy did not permit alcohol, even for celebration purposes. When Christmas rolled around and cadets were informed that the eggnog would not be made with alcohol, a small uproar occurred and the plotting began. On 24 December 1826, over one-third of the cadets at the academy were found drunken with alcoholic eggnog. Hitchcock was the one to first discover the cadets. The event is now known as the Eggnog RIot.
