Stories

St. Clair was in charge of defending Fort Ticonderoga during the Revolutionary War. However, his small number of troops was no match for the power of the British force at the time, and St. Clair and his men were forced to retreat. St. Clair was later court-martialed for his failure and was never given a battle assignment again. He was however granted the privilege of serving as George Washington's aide-de-camp.
