Two Army fliers and a civilian Woman's Army Service Pilot, victims of the mid-air collision of any (sic) Army pursuit plane and a trainer about 5 o'clock Friday afternoon near the Army air field at Palm Springs, have been announced. Both planes, on a routine flight, crashed from a relatively low altitude, according to Lt. Col. Richard D. Morgan, commander of the 21st Ferrying Group, who said that a board of inquiry will be named to determine the cause of the mishap.

1st Lt. Wilson A. Young, 25, and Dorothy F. Scott, 23, a WASP (formerly the WAFS), were in the trainer and 2Lt. Robert M. Snyder, 23, in the pursuit plane.

The air field public relations officer said that Miss Scott was a former CPT flight instructor with more than 600 flying hours to her credit.

Lieutenant Young, on temporary duty from Gore field, Bridge Falls, Mont., is survived by his widow, Margaret Lord Young, 3707 Hill steet, Huntington Park, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Young, 1730 University avenue, Wichita, Kans.

Miss Scott, on temporary duty from Love field, Dallas, Tex., is survived by her parents, G.M. Scott, Oroville, Washington, and Mrs G.M. Scott, 2939 Budlong avenue, Los Angeles.

Lieutenant Snyder, permanently stationed at Palm Springs, is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph H. Snyder, Milwaukee avenue, Libertyville, Ill. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a Sweetwater, Tex., flying instructor.

Deputy Coroner Seymer Cash assisted Saturday with the investigations for civilian records.

Bodies were taken to the Wiefel's mortuary in Banning.
