Stories

Flight Officer Morris E. Gant was a member of the Tuskegee Airmen. He was assigned to the 99th Fighter Squadron attached to the 332d Fighter Group, dubbed the "Red-tail Angels" by the bomber groups they escorted, and stationed at the Army Air Base, Ramitelli, Italy. Although little is known about him, he reported being low on fuel about 12 miles east of Pescara, Italy while returning from a combat mission over the Adriatic Sea. He went missing and was presumed lost on April 15, 1945.
