I am almost certain Bea Notley nee' Low was my Latin teacher at Edison High School in 1968, 1969 and 1970. Suffice it to say that she was one of my most memorable teachers. I can recall many quotes of her but they one I liked the best was rendered in latin by her but translated into english as "All indians walk in single file, at least the one that I saw did."

I thought she hailed from Detroit or thereabouts because I remember in one of her introductory lecture she discussed her travel from the " big city" to Tulsa and the fact that as she traveled across the country the cities and towns kept gettng smaller until finally she arrived at Inola which was the smallest of them all. She was then relieved to find that Tulsa was indeed more than the simple western village.she had come to expect.

She would have loved to learn that I had recently purchased a copy of the Ocford Latin Desk Dictionary and scanning the tome brought her memory to the fore. This generated the online search which led me here.

I can safely say that she has made a lasting impression on me.
