Jonah David McClellan1-4 was born on 02 Nov 1983 in Duluth, St Louis County, Minnesota.1-4 He died on 21 Sep 2010 in Qalat, Zabol Province, Afghanistan.1-2 Jonah was a life-long member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church. 32320 NE Lewisville Hwy, Battle Ground, Washington and a 2002 graduate of Battle Ground's Summit View High School.4

Jonah David McClellan was Killed in Action.4 In August of 2003, he enlisted in the U.S Army; his final rank was Chief warrant Officer 2.2, 4 Between 2006-2010 he was stationed in Fort Campbell, Christian, Kentucky and assigned to the US Army, 5th Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Bravo Company4. Jonah was a UH-60 Black Hawk pilot and was one of five 101st Airborne Division members killed September 21st, when their UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed during combat operations as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.4 It was Jonah’s second Afghanistan deployment. He was buried in Brush Prairie, Clark County, Washington at Elim Cemetery2.

On 29 Sep 2010, his obituary was published in The Reflector newspaper in Battle Ground, Clark County, Washington. 4 An obituary also appeared in The Columbian (Vancouver, Washington); accident details appeared in an Associated Press release and an article in The Leaf Chronicle (Clarksville, Tennessee).
