LEWISTOWN, IL - June E. Cooley, 57, of Rural Route 2 died at 9:03 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 1993, at the Graham Hospital Extended Care Unit in Canton, Illinois.

Born March 18, 1936, in Chicago to Melvin and Dorothy Eggleston Smith, she married Joseph A. Cooley on March 30, 1971, in Lewistown. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother of Lexington; six sons, Daniel of Chatham, David and Dean, both of Mackinaw, Dale of Lewistown, Dwayne of Fiatt and Dennis of Lincoln; two daughters, Diane Smith of Seattle and Jo Anne Smith of East Peoria; four stepdaughters, Barbara Hackard of Lovelace, Kan., Dianne Hicks and Pam Kay Greenwood, both of Edwardsville, and Tina Harrison of Baton Rouge, La.; one stepson, Joseph Cooley of San Antonio; two sisters, Janet Richardson of Lexington and Jean Smith of Madison, Wis.; one half sister, Sandy Smith of Itasca; one half brother, Melvin Smith of Seattle; 24 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her father, two sisters, one half brother and one half sister preceded her in death.

She and her husband operated a kennel for 16 years. They raised poodles, and groomed and boarded animals.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Burial will be in Bath Cemetery in Bath.
