SOLDIER RESUMES HOMESTEAD WORK
Father and Son United This Morning in Milestown; Boy Served in Argonne
Loren Sisson arrived in Miles City Friday from Fort Russell with his discharge and was met here by his father, W. J. Sisson, who drove over from his home on Grimes Creek early this morning to greet the returning hero.
Sisson served in France 16 months with the 315th infantry of the 79th division and says he has had some hair-raising experiences, although he returns without a scratch. Last fall while fighting in the Argonne forest, a shell burst near him, almost completely covering him with earth.
Father and son were greatly affected by the reunion and say it is their intention to return to their homesteads at the earliest possible moment. While the son has been fighting in France, Mr. Sisson has been holding his own and Loren’s places, and says he is sorry his boy could not be home in time to help him celebrate his 64th birthday.
