A Soldier of the Confederacy in the Civil War

Salem, Burke County , North Carolina

Morris Carter joined the Civil War along with 2 of his brothers in Florida . He was in Company K infantry along with James Carter. Morris became ill when reaching NC and soon after passed. He is buried in Salem , Burke County Norh Carolina

I have not found his resting place as of yet but feel that I am getting closer.

Morris Carter joined the Confederate Army in Florida with 2 brothers one of those brothers fell ill and Morris stayed back to take care of him. Morris then became ill himself and died on the field from his illness. The brother that became ill went on and was catured he died in Elmira Prison the day he was to be released. Morris Carter left behind a wife Sarah E Grantham Carter and 2 children Francis Victoria Carter and James (Cap) Harvey Carter.
