Purdy Missing In Germany

Assigned to the 422d Infantry Division, Private Edmund Purty was reported missing in action in Germany Dec. 16.

In service a year, he had been overseas since October. He was employed by the Simmons Machine Tool Company. A graduate of Albany High School, he had attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Siena College. A brother, Lt. Warren F. Purdy is with the Army in this country.
