James E. Gaddis

WAPPINGERS FALLS

James E. Gaddis, 82, a one-year area resident, died Friday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Castle Point.

He was building superintendant in Mount Kisco for Aarons and Barelles.

Mr. Gaddis served in World War II, receiving a Purple Heart.

Born Sept. 26, 1915, in Rhinecliff, he was a son of Clyde and Jennie Shoemaker Gaddis.

He married Evelyn Shopp on Nov. 11, 1945. Mrs. Gaddis died in 1989.

There are no calling hours. Services are private. Burial in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park, will be at a later date. [sic - burial records indicate that he is actually buried in the big cemetery in Rhinebeck, New York. Thanks to Beverly Kane at Find-A-Grave for this information.]
