Member of 19th Bomb Gp..Was in 2nd flight of B-17 enroute to Hawaii on Dec 7th 1941 which was returned to Ca because of the attackl Did  go overseas weeks later and was in Java and New Guinea and Australia. Became the radio operator for the original crew of Gen. MacArthurs first personal aircraft, an XC-108 BATAAN. Which did not have any armament untill the next crew took over in 1944. He finished his first tour and roteted home to Riverside, CA. In 1944 he returned to the Pacifis for the last tour of the war and was with the 509th in Tinian. After the war he went to Laughlin Field, Kirkland Field and Roswell Army Air Field with the 509th Bomb Group. Quit flying and became a first sgt and went to Goose Bay, Labrador for 2 years and then to Williams Air Force Base until retirement in 1967. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Detinguished Fllying Cross/
