C. B. was his name

| Greenwood, Sebastian Co., AR.

C. B. Basham:

C.B. was his name he was born 19 Mar 1903. I was his Granddaughter  born on his birthday. He was the Son of Joseph Lawrence Basham, b. 1866 and Grandson of Joseph P. Basham, b. 1827. C.B. Basham's Father Joseph L. Died from, we think a heart attack 20 Mar. 1908. Grandpa C.B. was the youngest Son of eight Children. He hadn't been in school long and had to quit to help his Mother JoAnn on the farm. His older Brother's were  in school or already Married when Their Father Joseph passed away. So Grandpa C.B. couldn't read or write. His two Daughter's Iva and Eva said he could figure out math problems in his head but couldn't show them how he got the answer on paper. I came to visit  my grandparents just after high school. There was an old purse in the barn and I ask him about it. He opened the purse and gave me some old pictures. One in perticular I remembered he told me it was a picture of his Grandpa Joseph P. Basham on his ranch in Eastland TX. He also had a picture of his Father Joseph L. Basham and pictures of several others. That was what started my wanting to know about where they came from and who they were. I have found out so much about my family and even relished the black sheep when I ran across them. As we know we all have Black sheep in our family.
