Jessie Cole

Jessie Ephelia Pritchard (or Pritchard) married Newton F. Cole and lived in Minter City, Leflore County, Miss.  Her husband died in 1949, so she lived alone with her oldest son, John David (aka "JD") Cole, who was mentally disabled.

Jessie and Newton Cole had 7 children who grew up to be adults.  One twin child died at age 22 months.  Family history says that she had two still births and one (maybe one of these 2) who died at 9 months of pneumonia.  It is said that one infant was buried at Itta Bena, MS, but the marker has been lost.  This is the reason that they chose to be buried at this same cemetery.
