The first child of Second Lieutenant and Mrs.
Malcolm L. Rush--due to be born within three
weeks--will never know his Father.

Lieutenant Rush, 25, Co-Pilot of a B-29 Bomber,
was killed over Korea, September 13, the 100th
Greater Clevelander to die in action there.

HOPED FOR SON
The flier had been anxiously awaiting the
arrival of the baby--and had hoped for a son.

Lieutenant Rush and his wife, Iva, met as
students at kirk Junior High School in East
Cleveland. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Milo Rush, 1256 E. 114th Street, East
Cleveland. She is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Guy E. Knight, 13413 Claiborne Road,
East Cleveland, with whom she lives.

As an enlisted man, Lieutenant Rush served
in the ground troops in World War II, which
followed his graduation from Shaw High School.

Both the Officer and his wife attended Ohio
State University. Lieutenant Rush also
attended the University of Missouri.

Three weeks after they were married at
Calvary Presbyterian Church here, September
9, 1949, Lieutenant Rush entered service as
an aviation cadet.

Last December he received his Pilot's Wings
at Vance Air Force Base, Enid, Oklahoma.
He went overseas last month and was killed
on his fifth mission.

Besides his wife and parents, Lieutenant
Rush is survived by a brother, Dwight, and

a sister, Mrs. Melba Cross of New York.

SON BORN To DEAD KOREA HERO'S WIFE

The son Second Lieutenant Malcolm L. Rush,
25, had hoped for was born yesterday at
St. Luke's Hospital.

Mrs. Iva Rush, widow of the flier, gave birth
to the five pound, seven ounce boy at 5:11 a.m.
Both were doing well last night.

The baby, born 15 days after his father died
in combat over Korea, as a B-29 Bomber Co-Pilot,
will be named Malcolm Jeffrey Rush. The name
had been chosen by the officer and his wife in
the weeks in which they had looked forward to
the birth.

Lieutenant Rush was the 100th Greater Clevelander
to be killed in Korea.

The Officer was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milo
Rush, 1256 E. 114th Street, East Cleveland.
His wife lives with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Guy E. Knight, 13413 Claiborne Road, East

Cleveland.
