Private First Class McKeever was a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in Korea on August 31, 1952. Private First Class McKeever was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Return Bodies From Korea War Bodies of 24 Americans who lost their lives fighting in Korea are being returned to the United States aboard the Beaver Victory, the Department of Defense announced today. Included are the bodies of Pfc. Stephen G. Palmer, husband of Mrs. Genevieve J. Palmer, Burlington Route 2, and Pfc. Marlin M. McKeever, son of Henry A. McKeever of Morning Sun. The ship is expected to arrive at San Francisco, Calif., on or about October 10. Next of kin have been notified and bodies will be sent with escorts to the point designated.
