On May 14, 2009, Charlotte Smith Low, cousin of Harold Lloyd Wright,  said the following:
"The oldest boy was lost at sea off Guam. He was on his way home when his plane went down during a cyclonic storm. His body was never recovered. A small headstone was placed at the foot of his parent's grave."
