10 Dec. 1944 — Italy
S/Sgt Ingwal J Hermanson served as a Armorer/Gunner in the B-25 Mitchells of the 321st Bomb Group, the 446th Bomb Squadron in the MTO. He completed 50 COMBAT Missions and went home for about a year, returning to his original unit, the 446th Bomb squadron and was KIA on his 6th Mission after returning. It is believed that Ingwal was hit by flak and died in the ship that he went down in. A true Home-Town Hero indeed, his 2nd Tour of Duty! He is missed greatly by his family and friends and those who knew him then and during the 1st Tour.
God Bless our brave men. Barbi Ennis Connolly, 321st Bomb Group Historian with the History Team; John T Fitzgerald, Patti Johnson and Barbi ennis Connolly.
