Mrs. Philip Klipple, 92, nee Georgia Earnest, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, July 29, 2007. The body was cremated with a memorial service planned at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Klipple was born March 19, 1915, in Morenci, AZ, the daughter of George Custer Earnest and Angie Livingston Earnest. She married Philip Klipple in 1949 in Austin. He preceded her in death. She attended Baylor University and received a master's degree in English from the University of Texas. She taught for many years in the Austin Independent School District. She was also a lifetime member of the Austin Poetry Society, and was the author of two publications, Gone To Texas and Nowhere Is An Old Country. Mrs. Klipple was well versed in Texas history and art and at one time active in local Austin politics and also wrote articles regarding environmental issues for the Austin-American Statesman. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Crouch, of Fredericksburg, and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Sierra Club or the charity of choice.
