Summary

Son of Sarah Jane Spencer and her first husband, Wm. W. Robuck, of Caldwell Co., TX. After the death of Wm. Robuck in the Civil War, Sarah married Daniel Carmichael Chamberlain in 1875. Apparently, Berry did not get along well with him, and thus decided to leave home. At the age of 15, he made his first trip driving a herd of cattle up the Chisholm Trail. This marked the beginning of his career as a trail driver. Three years later, he married Ella Lucas Brite, with whom he would have six children--3 boys and 3 girls: W. Emmett; Hilliard Terrell; Georgia Magnolia; Willie Elma; Samuel M.; and Mary Frances. At the time of his death, at the age of 93, Berry Robuck was president of the Old Trail Drivers Association, based in San Antonio.
