Jeremiah David Chamberlain was the son of Jeremiah M. Chamberlain (1831-1904) and Martha A. E. Widdows (1834-1916). He was married twice: first to Mary Magdalene Scarbrough (1848-1900), with whom he had two sons, William and Jerry Walter; and then to Elsie E. Bradley, with whom he had four sons, Clarence H., Fred A., Jesse L., and Ernest L. (Fuzzy). His headstone calls him "David Chamberlain."
