Isaac Jones Watkins first married Margaret (Peggy) Reese (1800-1818), with whom he had a son, Albert Galiton Watkins (1818-1895), who was later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1821, he married his second wife, Margaret Jane (Peggy) Chamberlain (1799-1877). The couple had six sons and two daughters: John Melton; Margaret Reese; Wm. Wirt; Tompsey C.; Abram; Thos. G.; Jas.
