J. McCann Davis, Sr., was the son of Robert McWhirter Davis and Frances (Fannie) McCann, of Nashville, TN, and the husband of Regina B. Winter, whom he married about 1909. In 1920, the couple moved to CA, where they lived in Berkeley and San Francisco. John was an insurance broker and eventually became the manager of the SF Insurance Brokers' Assn. Children: John McCann, Jr. (Mac); Robert McWhirter; Margaret Ann; Alexander Winter (Alec); and Richard Chamberlain.
