Youngest child of Jeremiah Chamberlain (1707-1778) and Margery Hamilton (1716-1795), of York Co., PA. In about 1775, Martha married Benjamin Beatty, who served as an ensign in the Revolution. Martha and Benjamin were the parents of 10 children: Margery; Hamilton; John; Jamison; Samuel; Ann; Mary; Martha; Elizabeth; and Susan. The Beattys moved to Westmoreland Co., in western PA, where Martha lived the rest of her life.
