Daniel Carmichael (1736/43-1777), of Derry Twp., Cumberland (today Mifflin) Co., PA, was the youngest son of Cornelius Carmichael and Isabella Unknown, of Scotland. He married Mary Eaton (1740-1815) in PA in c1764. He served as an ensign in the American Revolution, from which he did not return. Mary, the daughter of Jas. and Abigail Eaton, of Hamilton Twp., Cumberland Co., PA, later married Jas. Thompson and moved with him to Grainger Co., E. TN.
