Daughter of John Oliphant (1750-1823) and Hannah Amos (1756-1814), of Greene Co., TN. Wife of Wm. Barton (1788-1840), of Jefferson Co., TN, and Johnson Co., MO. Children: Polly Ann (1813-1841); Thomas (1816-1839); Elizabeth (Betsy) (1810-1902); John (1821-1885); and Sarah Runnels (1824-1905). After her husband's death, Hannah moved on to TX with her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah R. and James Chamberlain. Some researchers claim that Hannah died in 1875, but she is listed on the 1880 Burnet Co. census living in the household of son John. The 1883 DOD is approximate.
