Youngest son of Ninian Chamberlain (1718-1804) and Jennet Unknown (1720-1784), of E. TN. During the Revolution, Andrew fought in the NC line. In 1786, he acquired land on Richland Crk., north side of the Holston R., in what was then Greene Co., TN, but would eventually become Grainger Co. In 1787, he was named a magistrate in Washington Co., TN, and, in 1792, he was commissioned as a justice of Jefferson Co. The following year, he wrote his will. The cause of his premature death is not currently known.
