Son of James Lackey and Mary Woods. Husband of Isabella Trimble, whom he married in Blount Co., TN, in 1798. Militia soldier and Indian fighter. Commissioned by Gov. John Sevier as a captain in the Blount Co. militia in 1796. Lived in Knox and Blount counties., TN, and later in Madison Co., MS. Brother of Jas. W. Lackey, Wm. Lackey, Andrew Lackey, and Hannah Lackey Chamberlain, among others. Children: Mary Gamble (Polly); Eliza W.; Amanda H.; John T.; and James Jefferson. Some researchers note that he married June Dohe after moving to MS.
