Dr. Daniel C. Chamberlain (1794-1866) was the second son of Jeremiah and Margaret (Carmichael) Chamberlain. He was a physician and served in the War of 1812. He married Mary Garrett (1802-1864), the daughter of Rev. Wm. Garrett and Elizabeth Chelly (Betsy) Grey, in 1818 in Cocke Co., TN. The couple lived in Cocke, Dickson, Rutherford, and Davidson counties and had seven children. He was appointed a trustee of Anderson Academy by an act of the TN General Assembly in 1823. He also served as a clerk of the Circuit Court in Cocke Co. Both Daniel and Mary are buried in the Wm. Garrett family plot at Nashville City Cemetery. Children: Elizabeth Chelly; Franklin Garrett; Margaret Jane; Alexander Jeremiah; Juliet Lenora; Mary Alice (Mollie); and Harriet T.
