I would like to find out why he died in Evansville, 127 miles from home. According to records for his regiment, they were all over Tennessee at the time. I cannot find any records, so far, of a family connection to Evansville, despite a note from the Army in regards to his widow's claim for a pension: "died at home April 29/62". Perhaps he was on his way home when he died?
