Emmanuel François Louis Salvar borned 07/01/1910 in La Villeneuve Runello, Plouray, Morbihan, Brittany, France. Son of Nicolas Salvar and Marie Elizabeth Royant, brother of Marie Elizabeth Salvar, uncle of Louise Bellec (my grandmother) and godfather of one of her sister Bernadine Bellec. Emmanuel Francois Louis Salvar

He emigrated to the United States (I have not yet managed to find the date) and appears in the U.S. Census of 1940 as a cook in New York. 
He enlisted in the U.S. Army on 08/11/1942 and came back to France with the US Army. It is the last time the family saw him.He wrote once to his goddaughter Bernadine Bellec. The letter was written in American, probably because he was never taught to write in French.He applied for American citizenship on 24/06/1946. 

He died in New York in October 1992.

It would be wonderful if I could find someone who knew him and could tell me more about his life in U.S.A.

Il émigre aux Etats Unis et apparaît dans le recensement américain de 1940 comme cuisinier à New York.
Il s'enrôle dans l'armée américaine le 11/08/1942 et revient en France. C'est la dernière fois que la famille l'a vu. Il a écrit une fois à sa filleule Bernadine Bellec. La lettre était écrite en américain, probablement parce qu'il n'avait jamais appris à écrire en francais. 
Il fait une demande de naturalisation américaine le 24/06/1946. 
Il décède à New York en octobre 1992.

Ce serait merveilleux si je trouvais quelqun qui l'a connu et pourrait m'en dire plus sur sa vie aux U.S.A.
